Keur Arwodha Kemeneth Penzance
Our Makaton signing choir meets every Thursday at Humphry Davy School, between 7 and 8 pm.
We have people with and without disabilities, both young, old and in between and all are welcomed! It’s a lovely, supportive group and we have a good giggle along the way. People can sign as much or as little as they’re able and air-guitar or drumming is also enjoyed!
We performed to Suzanne, from Singing Hands, at the ‘Get Cornwall Signing’ event last month, with the other Keur Arwodha Choirs from Redruth and St. Austell and Makasong. There were 40 of us on stage! We have recorded ourselves for the Makaton International Awareness Day so keep your eyes peeled on the 28th August.
We are also taking part in the Penzance NHS Wellbeing Festival on Friday August 9th. This is being held at Humphry Davy School between 2 and 7 pm. It is being billed as ‘a great family friendly, fun afternoon of music, activities and wellbeing that showcases all of the key community supporters and providers in the Penzance area’. Please come along and join in the fun!
